Globes Cancelled!

The 2008 Golden Globes have been cancelled, due to the writers strike, it was announced this morning. Instead, they have been replaced with a press conference to announce the winners of the different categories at 9pm Eastern time.

Nicole Confirms She's Pregnant!

Actress Nicole Kidman has confirmed she is indeed pregnant with husband Keith Urban's baby, ending weeks of speculation she was with child. Kidman's rep, Wendy Day, announced the news this morning in a statement saying, "Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban confirmed today that they are expecting a baby. The couple are thrilled!" No due date was announced.

Poppy Montgomery Welcomes a Son

Without A Trace actress Poppy Montgomery has welcomed her first child, a son named Jackson Phillip, on December 23rd in Los Angeles. The father is Montgomery's boyfriend of three years, fellow actor Adam Kaufman. The actress' rep, Jennifer Shoucair, said in a statement, "This was the best Christmas present Poppy and Adam could have hoped for. Both she and the baby are doing wonderfully!"

Globes Update - What's Happening With the Strike

The 65th Annual Golden Globes will go ahead on January 13th, but many a star - nominated or otherwise - will not be filling the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The stars are lining up in droves to support the Writers Guild of America, who have been striking for at least a month and a half over not getting a cut in Internet downloads of the shows they work on. A threatened picket line by the WGA has made several stars up for a Globe announce they will not be attending. Confirmed stars not attending: Keira Knightley, out of respect for her writer mum; Medium's Patricia Arquette; Australian stars Cate Blanchett, Rachel Griffiths and Russell Crowe; Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Angelina Jolie, John Travolta and Johnny Depp. The American Screen Actors Guild has announced a "unanimous" decision by the stars listed above, as well as others, to boycott the Globes this year.

The Britney Lowdown

What exactly happened when Britney Spears was taken to hospital? Well, it seems that her youngest son, Jayden James, was also taken to hospital for observation of bruises that were found on his body. Father Kevin Federline took the one-year-old home on Friday morning. The pop princess was taken to Ceders-Sinai, where doctors decided to keep her in for 72-hour observation under the Californian "5150 Hold" law. This was not the case, as Britney left hospital with dad Jamie on Saturday. And when Brit returned home, bad news reached her - she lost all visitation rights she had in regards to her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, with the court Commissioner awarding Kev "sole legal custody and sole physical custody of the minor children". The order will be reviewed on January 14th. Experts and doctors have stated that Britney may have a mental disorder, with some claiming bi-polar disorder which has stemmed from untreated post-natal depression.

Cast for the Next Survivor Announced

The cast for the gazillionth edition of Survivor has been announced. This time, instead of having either a full cast of nobodies or a full cast of "All-Stars", Survivor: Micronesia will feature half-and-half: the tribes will feature both newbies and oldies. Some of those previous Survivors returning include Jon "Johnny Fairplay" Dalton (the hated guy from Pearl Islands), Ozzy Lusth (the porn star from Cook Islands) and Yau-Man Chan (the guy everyone loved from Fiji). The 16th Survivor installment premieres on February 7th, on CBS.
